Greece, Republic. An Order of the Phoenix, Commander’s Neck Badge, c.1940 visually-hidden QE II (in silver gilt( ). Instituted May 13th, 1926. Type II. (c. 1935 1947 issue). Constructed of gilded silver and white enamels, consisting of a Greek cross with enameled arms, the obverse bearing a gilt phoenix affixed to the cross, the reverse cartouche bearing a crowned Greek X (King George), on a swivel crown suspension from its period original neck ribbon, measuring 55. 5 mm (w) x 60. 9 mm (l), weighing 36. 79 grams.
